Bass & Mandolin to be released on Nonesuch Records
On September 9, Nonesuch Records will release Bass & Mandolin, Edgar Meyer and mandolinist Chris Thile’s sophomore album for the label. The two MacArthur Fellows began playing together 15 years ago have performed together for over a decade. Bass & Mandolin features 10 original compositions by Chris and Edgar, including “Tarnation,” which can be previewed here.
Edgar and Chris released their first album on Nonesuch in 2008 and appeared together on the Grammy-winning Goat Rodeo Sessions. Most recently, Edgar produced Chris’s 2013 solo recording of Bach’s sonatas and partitas.
In celebration of their new release, Chris and Edgar will tour North America from September 16 to October 17.
