Edgar Meyer celebrates Nashville Symphony’s anniversary season in 2016-17

As announced this week by the company, Edgar Meyer will write a new orchestral work for the Nashville Symphony to celebrate its 10th anniversary season at the Schermerhorn Center and 70th anniversary as an orchestra. Set to premiere March 16, 2017, the piece will be Edgar’s first all-orchestral work and is set to take the shape of either a symphony or tone poem. Edgar will also join for the program to perform Bottesini’s Concerto for Double Bass.

Previously, Edgar coauthored a triple concerto with banjo virtuoso Béla Fleck and tabla player Zakir Hussain for the 2006 gala opening of the Schermerhorn concert hall. Click here for more information.
