As soloist and composer Edgar Meyer joins Aspen Music Festival and School
Fresh from his debut performances in Australia, Edgar Meyer returns to Aspen on August 8 for a concert with the Aspen Chamber Symphony as part of the Aspen Music Festival and School. Presented in the Benedict Music Tent, the American bassist and composer wears both hats in a performance of his Double Bass Concerto in E, led by Federico Cortese.
The work is paired in the second half of the program with Ginastera’s Estancia Suite, and is preceded in the first act by Mozart’s Overture to Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with Veronika Eberle.
