Edgar Meyer’s Australian debut begins with Queensland Symphony and solo recital
Edgar Meyer’s first appearances in Australia, given as part of the Queensland Music Festival, launch this week with a July 17 performance at QPAC Concert Hall. Joining the Queensland Symphony and trumpeter James Morrison, Edgar gives the world premiere of Savikangas’s Concerto for Trumpet and Double Bass under the direction of Santtu-Matias Rouvali. The program also hears Nielsen’s Overture to Maskarade and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5. On Sunday, July 19, Edgar heads to Studio 420 in Brisbane for a solo festival with works to be announced from the stage.
