2016 begins with concertos in South Carolina, recital in Louisiana, McBride tour in UK

Edgar Meyer kicks off 2016 with a concert on January 9 at the Koger Center for the Arts. Playing with the South Carolina Philharmonic, the American bassist and composer performs his Double Bass Concerto in D paired with Bottesini’s Bass Concerto No. 2. Later in the month on January 28, Edgar heads to Baton Rouge for a recital at the LSU School of Music, coupled with a series of masterclasses.

From there, Edgar reunites with fellow bassist Christian McBride. Following their U.S. tour this fall, the pair hops the pond for a series of UK concerts in London (March 18), Southampton (March 19), Bristol (March 20), Manchester (March 22), and Brighton (March 23). Edgar also looks forward to joining the Ciompi Quartet on April 16 at Duke University’s Baldwin Auditorium for works by Bach, Dvorak, and Edgar himself.
